Description

A quick and easy recipe for making perfectly light and fluffy tea biscuits in just 20 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour in the milk and stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1 inch thick and cut into rounds.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with butter or jam.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add herbs or cheese to the dough.
