Description

A healthy and protein-packed twist on traditional lasagna, featuring creamy cottage cheese and rolled pasta.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix together cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Take a lasagna noodle, spread a portion of the cheese mixture on it, and roll it up.
  6. Place the rolled noodles seam-side down in the baking dish.
  7. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top of the rolled noodles.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or zucchini for extra nutrition.
  • Can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture.
