Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Slice the flank steak against the grain and marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  3. While the steak is marinating, steam the broccoli and carrots until tender.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
  5. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. In serving bowls, layer cooked rice, steamed vegetables, and sliced steak.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
