- 1 lb flank steak
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
- Slice the flank steak against the grain and marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- While the steak is marinating, steam the broccoli and carrots until tender.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the marinated steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- In serving bowls, layer cooked rice, steamed vegetables, and sliced steak.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the marinade.
- Feel free to substitute the vegetables with your favorites.
- This recipe can be made with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
