Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples.
- Preheat the waffle iron and grease it lightly.
- Pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook until golden brown.
- Remove the waffles and let them cool slightly before frying.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the waffles until crispy on both sides.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
