Description

A hearty and comforting dish featuring seasoned hamburger steaks baked with a savory gravy and served with mashed potatoes.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well and form into patties.
  3. In a skillet, brown the patties on both sides over medium heat.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth until well combined.
  5. Place the browned patties in a baking dish and pour the soup mixture over them.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through.
  7. Serve the hamburger steaks with mashed potatoes and gravy.
