Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, sift together the cake flour and half of the sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, then add cream of tartar and salt.
  4. Continue beating until soft peaks form, then gradually add the remaining sugar.
  5. Fold in the flour mixture gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into an ungreased tube pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cake is golden and springs back when touched.
  8. Invert the pan to cool completely before removing the cake.
