- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup oats
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the flour and salt, mixing until combined.
- Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of a greased baking pan to form the crust.
- In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Spread the apple mixture over the crust in the baking pan.
- Sprinkle the remaining crust mixture and oats over the apples.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For a sweeter taste, add more brown sugar to the apple mixture.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
