  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugars.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then mix in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Using a donut cutter, cut out the donuts from the batter and carefully place them in the hot oil.
  7. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
