- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sugar (for caramel)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for caramel)
- 1/4 cup butter (for caramel)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add flour, baking powder, salt, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix until well combined.
- Preheat the waffle iron and lightly grease it.
- Pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions until golden brown.
- For the caramel sauce, in a saucepan, heat sugar over medium heat until it melts and turns golden brown.
- Carefully add heavy cream and butter to the melted sugar, stirring until smooth.
- Serve the waffles warm, drizzled with homemade caramel sauce.
