Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, place panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Remove shrimp from buttermilk, then dredge in flour, dip back into buttermilk, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha to create the sauce.
  8. Serve the crispy shrimp with the sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust the spiciness of the sauce by adding more or less sriracha.
  • For a healthier option, consider baking the shrimp instead of frying.
