Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake, baked and cooled
  • 2 cups cherry pie filling
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut the cooled chocolate cake into cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  3. In a trifle dish, layer half of the chocolate cake cubes at the bottom.
  4. Add half of the cherry pie filling over the cake layer.
  5. Spread half of the whipped cream over the cherries.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, cherries, and whipped cream.
  7. Top with chocolate shavings for garnish.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
