- 4 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter
- Caramel sauce (for drizzling)
- Chopped nuts (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Core each apple and make cuts in a star pattern, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Mix in a small bowl the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Stuff the sugar mixture into the cuts of each apple.
- Place a small piece of butter on top of each apple.
- Wrap each apple in aluminum foil and place them on the grill.
- Grill for 15-20 minutes, until the apples are tender.
- Remove from the grill and drizzle with caramel sauce and chopped nuts before serving.
Notes
For people with diabetes, consider sugar substitutes like stevia or monk fruit. Using fresh, firm apples will enhance the dish’s texture.
