- 1 loaf of bread (preferably sourdough or French)
- 1 cup brie cheese, cut into small pieces
- 1 pear, diced
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Stir in the diced pear and thyme, cooking for an additional 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Slice the loaf of bread in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Stuff the brie cheese and the caramelized onion-pear mixture into the cuts of the bread.
- Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bread is warm.
- Unwrap the bread and bake for an additional 5 minutes to crisp the top.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
