  • 1 cup brie cheese, cut into small pieces
  • 1 pear, diced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced pear and thyme, cooking for an additional 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Slice the loaf of bread in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  5. Stuff the brie cheese and the caramelized onion-pear mixture into the cuts of the bread.
  6. Wrap the bread in aluminum foil and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bread is warm.
  7. Unwrap the bread and bake for an additional 5 minutes to crisp the top.
