A simple and tasty recipe for making California Roll Sushi Bowls at home.
Ingredients

- 2 cups sushi rice
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 cucumber, julienned
- 1/2 pound imitation crab meat, shredded
- 2 sheets nori, cut into strips
- Soy sauce, for serving
- Wasabi and pickled ginger, for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Stir this mixture into the cooked rice and let it cool.
- Once the rice is cool, divide it into bowls.
- Top each bowl with sliced avocado, julienned cucumber, and shredded imitation crab meat.
- Garnish with nori strips, and serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
Notes
- Feel free to add other toppings like sesame seeds or radish.
- For a vegetarian option, substitute crab with tofu or additional vegetables.
