Description

A deliciously creamy and savory bake featuring caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and cheesy cauliflower.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy.
  4. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the cauliflower florets. Cook for 5-7 minutes until tender, then drain.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked cauliflower, caramelized onions, crispy bacon, heavy cream, and half of the shredded cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon.
  • Feel free to use different types of cheese for varied flavor.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
