- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the caramelized onions, Gruyere cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Serve warm with chips, bread, or vegetables.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of white wine to the onions while caramelizing.
