Description

A delightful quiche made with fresh asparagus and creamy Gruyere cheese, perfect for brunch or family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a pie dish.
  3. Sauté the asparagus in a skillet until tender.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, cream, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  5. Spread the sautéed asparagus and grated Gruyere cheese evenly over the pie crust.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the top.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until set and golden.
  8. Let cool slightly before slicing.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes
