- 2 large onions
- 1 cup macaroni
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot.
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions and drain.
- In a bowl, mix the cooked macaroni, cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Slice the onions into thick rings and carefully separate them.
- Stuff each onion ring with the macaroni and cheese mixture.
- Dip the stuffed onion rings in beaten egg and then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Fry the onion rings in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.
