Description

Delicious cherry cinnamon rolls filled with a homemade cherry filling and topped with a sweet glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture and mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour and knead until a soft dough forms.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix chopped cherries, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  7. Spread the cherry filling evenly over the dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar with milk to create a glaze and drizzle over the warm rolls before serving.
