Easy and Delicious Recipe for Sweet Cherry Treats
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the softened butter and vanilla extract, and mix until crumbly.
- Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine cherries, cornstarch, and lemon juice, then spread the cherry mixture over the crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the cherries.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For a sweeter taste, you can add more sugar to the cherry mixture.
- These bars can be served warm or cold.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
