Description

Delicious and easy-to-make cherry crumble bars that are perfect for dessert or a sweet snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the melted butter and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. Spread the cherries evenly over the crust.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the cherries.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For a sweeter taste, add more sugar to the cherries.
  • These bars can be served warm or cold.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
