- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 1 cup sugar

- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 2 cups milk
- 3 egg yolks

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the cherry mixture into the pie crust.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the cherries are bubbly.
- While the pie is baking, prepare the vanilla custard by heating milk in a saucepan.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Gradually add hot milk to the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook until thickened.
- Stir in vanilla extract and let cool.
- Once the pie is cooled, pour the custard over the top and serve.
