- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Submerge the whole chicken in the buttermilk mixture and marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- In a separate bowl, place the flour.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and let the excess drip off, then coat it in the flour.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes per batch.
- Drain on paper towels and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
