- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 chicken sausages, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the orzo pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced chicken sausages and cook until browned.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional minute.
- Add broccoli florets and a splash of water, cover, and steam for about 5 minutes until broccoli is tender.
- Stir in the cooked orzo and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot, topped with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute turkey sausage for a leaner option.
- For a vegetarian version, omit the sausage and add more vegetables.
