  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, melted
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • Fresh strawberries for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a heart-shaped cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and buttermilk.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chopped strawberries.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.
  7. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering, then pour it over the melted dark chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  8. Once the cake is cooled, pour the chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.
