- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2–4 tbsp milk (as needed for consistency)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add in the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until well combined.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- If the frosting is too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Use immediately to frost your favorite cakes or cupcakes.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese and butter are at room temperature for easier mixing.
- This frosting can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- For a richer chocolate flavor, you can increase the cocoa powder.
