Description
A rich and indulgent dessert combining the flavors of chocolate mousse and brownies.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the brownies are baking, prepare the chocolate mousse by melting the semi-sweet chocolate in a double boiler.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Once the chocolate has cooled slightly, fold it into the whipped cream until fully combined.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before spreading the chocolate mousse on top.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
- Make sure the brownies are completely cool before adding the mousse layer.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings or berries for an elegant touch.
