  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. While the brownies are baking, prepare the chocolate mousse by melting the semi-sweet chocolate in a double boiler.
  9. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  10. Once the chocolate has cooled slightly, fold it into the whipped cream until fully combined.
  11. Allow the brownies to cool completely before spreading the chocolate mousse on top.
  12. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
