Description

A delightful dessert combining rich chocolate cake, airy strawberry mousse, and fresh strawberries, perfect for celebrating Mother’s Day.


Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake, cut into cubes (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp LorAnn Oils Strawberry Emulsion (optional)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Fresh strawberries, washed and dried
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Mousse
  2. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  3. Fold in the freeze-dried strawberries and LorAnn Oils Strawberry Emulsion (if using) gently.
  4. Prepare the Strawberry Compote
  5. Combine fresh strawberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice in a small saucepan.
  6. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens.
  7. Prepare the Chocolate-Covered Strawberries
  8. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.
  9. Dip fresh strawberries in the melted chocolate, then place on parchment paper to set.
  10. Assemble the Parfaits
  11. Layer chocolate cake cubes at the bottom of serving glasses.
  12. Add a layer of strawberry mousse on top.
  13. Spoon some strawberry compote over the mousse.
  14. Repeat the layers until the glasses are filled, ending with a mousse layer.
  15. Garnish and Serve
  16. Top with chocolate-covered strawberries for a beautiful finish.
  17. Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.

Notes

Let the parfaits chill for an hour before serving for enhanced flavor blending.
