- 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 5 Large Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup Whole Milk
- 12 ounces Evaporated Milk
- 14 ounces Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 1 1/2 cups Heavy Cream, for topping
- 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar, for topping
- 1/2 cup Cinnamon Sugar, for churros
- 12 Churros
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
- Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes before poking holes all over the top.
- Prepare the tres leches mixture and set aside.
- Slowly pour the tres leches mixture over the cooled cake.
- Cover the cake and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Prepare the cinnamon sugar topping.
- Melt the butter and dip each churro into the melted butter, then coat in cinnamon sugar.
- Remove the cake from the refrigerator once it has chilled completely.
- Frost the top with whipped cream.
- Arrange the churros decoratively over the whipped cream.
- Dust the entire cake with extra cinnamon.
- Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
For best results, chill the cake overnight to enhance the flavors and texture.
