- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup icing sugar (for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
- In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together.
- Pour half of the waffle batter onto the preheated waffle iron, then sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
- Cover with the remaining batter and close the waffle iron. Cook until golden brown and crispy.
- Repeat with the remaining batter and cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Drizzle with icing sugar before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped nuts or raisins to the batter.
- Serve with maple syrup or fresh fruit for a complete breakfast.
