Description

Deliciously buttery shortbread cookies infused with fresh orange zest, perfect for springtime treats.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the orange zest and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
  5. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
