- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup pine nuts
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the basil leaves, pine nuts, and garlic. Pulse until finely chopped.
- Add the Parmesan cheese and pulse to combine.
- While the processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the mixture is smooth.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Transfer the pesto to a jar and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Notes
- For a nuttier flavor, toast the pine nuts before adding them to the food processor.
- This pesto can be frozen for longer storage.
