Description

Delicious and soft coffee cake cookies perfect for spring desserts.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with sour cream, until just combined.
  6. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto a baking sheet and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
