Description

A delicious homemade version of the popular Panda Express Orange Chicken, perfect for a spring dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the cornstarch and flour together.
  2. Dip the chicken pieces in the beaten egg, then coat them in the flour mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. In a separate saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Once the sauce thickens, add the fried chicken to the pan and toss to coat.
  6. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
