Cortisol Tea Recipe for Weight Loss

  • Author: Tiffany
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x
  • Diet: Vegan

Description

A calming, adaptogenic tea designed to soothe cortisol levels and support weight loss. Perfect for replacing late-night snacks or winding down in the afternoon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon dried chamomile flowers
  • ½ teaspoon ashwagandha root powder (or 1 teaspoon dried root if steeping longer)
  • 1 teaspoon dried holy basil (tulsi)
  • ½ teaspoon licorice root
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 slice fresh ginger or ¼ teaspoon dried
  • 8 to 10 ounces boiling filtered water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (add after steeping)

Instructions

  1. Place all herbs in a teapot, tea infuser, or French press.
  2. Pour freshly boiled water over the mixture and cover.
  3. Let steep 7 to 10 minutes for dried herbs, or 15 minutes if using root pieces.
  4. Strain into a mug and stir in lemon juice just before drinking.
  5. Sip slowly, ideally in the late morning or late afternoon when cortisol naturally dips.

Notes

No ashwagandha? Try reishi mushroom powder. Skip licorice root if managing high blood pressure. Sweeten with stevia or monk fruit. Add oat milk or collagen peptides for variety.

Tools: kettle or pot, mesh strainer or French press, and your favorite mug.
