Description

A delicious and comforting casserole made with ground beef, potatoes, and a creamy sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread half of the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  9. Remove the foil, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños to the beef mixture.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
