Description
Delightful dumplings made with sweet apples and buttery crescent dough, enveloped in a warm cinnamon and sugar sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans (8 each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, or to taste
- 1 can (12 oz) 7 Up
- 2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Wash the apples, peel, and cut each into eight equal slices.
- Unwrap the crescent roll dough and separate into triangles.
- Place a slice of apple on the wider side of each triangle of dough and roll tightly into a crescent shape.
- Butter a 13 x 9-inch baking dish and arrange the rolled crescents inside.
- In a bowl, combine melted butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour the mixture over the crescents in the baking dish.
- Pour the 7 Up into the baking dish between the rolls, avoiding pouring directly over them.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown.
- Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For a lower-sugar version, consider using suitable sugar-free alternatives such as stevia, monk fruit, or allulose. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
