  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • Oil for frying
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Add cumin, chili powder, and salt to the mashed beans and mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Place a tortilla in the hot oil and cook for about 30 seconds until it starts to crisp.
  5. Flip the tortilla and add a spoonful of the black bean mixture to one half of the tortilla.
  6. Fold the tortilla over and continue to fry until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
