Description

A simple and delicious recipe for making apple butter in a crockpot.


Ingredients

  • 68 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced apples in the crockpot.
  2. Add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and lemon juice to the apples.
  3. Stir to combine all ingredients well.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the apples are soft, use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
  6. Cook uncovered for an additional 1-2 hours to thicken, if desired.
  7. Transfer to jars and let cool before storing in the refrigerator.
