A simple and delicious recipe for family meals that combines pierogi and sausage in a comforting casserole.

- 1 package frozen pierogi (16 oz)
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a crockpot, layer half of the frozen pierogi on the bottom.
- Add half of the sliced sausage and half of the chopped onion on top.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the layers.
- In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and chicken broth, then pour half of this mixture over the layers in the crockpot.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining pierogi, sausage, onion, and cheese.
- Pour the remaining soup mixture over the top.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the pierogi are tender and the sausage is heated through.
Notes
- Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
- For a spicier version, use spicy sausage.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before cooking.
