Description
A hearty and comforting casserole made with pierogi and sausage, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients

- 1 package of frozen pierogi (16 oz)
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and chicken broth until well combined.
- Layer half of the frozen pierogi in the bottom of the crockpot.
- Add half of the sliced sausage and half of the chopped onion on top of the pierogi.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the sausage and onion.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining pierogi, sausage, onion, and cheese.
- Pour the soup mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the pierogi are tender and the cheese is melted.
Notes
- Feel free to use any type of sausage you prefer.
- For a vegetarian option, omit the sausage and use vegetable broth.
- This dish can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before cooking.
