Description

A rich and creamy dessert that combines the deep flavors of dark chocolate with the bright zest of orange.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. Fold the melted chocolate into the egg mixture.
  4. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
  6. Add the orange zest and juice, folding until just combined.
  7. Divide the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a stronger orange flavor, increase the amount of orange zest.
  • Ensure the chocolate is cooled slightly before mixing with the eggs to prevent scrambling.
  • Can be topped with additional whipped cream or orange slices for garnish.
