Description
A simple and tasty casserole that combines pierogi and sausage for a quick weeknight meal.
Ingredients

- 1 package frozen pierogi (about 16 oz)
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the sliced sausage and chopped onion over medium heat until the sausage is browned and the onion is translucent.
- In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until well combined.
- Add the frozen pierogi to the bowl and stir to coat them with the soup mixture.
- In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the pierogi mixture, followed by half of the sausage and onion mixture, and half of the cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Feel free to use any type of sausage you prefer.
- For a vegetarian option, omit the sausage and add more vegetables.
- This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
