- 1 package of frozen pierogi (about 16 oz)
- 1 lb sausage (your choice, sliced)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 2 cups sauerkraut (drained)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
- Add the sliced sausage to the skillet and cook until browned.
- In a large baking dish, layer the frozen pierogi, followed by the sausage and onion mixture.
- Spread the sauerkraut over the sausage layer.
- In a bowl, mix the sour cream and half of the cheddar cheese, then spread it over the casserole.
- Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
