Description

A hearty and comforting Greek dish made with orzo pasta and tender beef, perfect for a family meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  3. Add the beef cubes and brown on all sides.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour, or until the beef is tender.
  6. Add the orzo pasta and cook for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
