Description
Juicy grilled burgers topped with sweet caramelized onions and a tangy balsamic mayo, perfect for summer BBQs and family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 slices bacon
- 4 slices cheese (e.g., cheddar or American)
- Lettuce leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about 20 minutes.
- Cook bacon in a separate pan until crispy, then drain on paper towels.
- Form ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper.
- Grill the patties over medium-high heat until cooked to desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium.
- Place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of grilling to melt.
- Mix balsamic vinegar with mayonnaise in a small bowl to create the balsamic mayo.
- Spread balsamic mayo on the bottom half of the hamburger buns. Layer with lettuce, the grilled burger patty with melted cheese, crispy bacon, and caramelized onions.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
Notes
For added flavor, use high-quality 80/20 ground beef and don’t rush the caramelization process for the onions.
