Description

A delicious and creamy lasagna layered with ham and cheese, topped with a rich Mornay sauce.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add nutmeg, salt, and pepper to the sauce, then remove from heat.
  6. In a baking dish, layer 3 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta cheese, half of the ham, and a third of the Mornay sauce.
  7. Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining noodles and Mornay sauce on top.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit the ham and add more vegetables.
  • Can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
