Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract and mashed bananas.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
