Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, butter, corn syrup, and heavy cream.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches 245°F (118°C) on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 8×8 inch pan and let it cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk to create a smooth filling.
- Once the caramel is set, cut it into squares and fill each square with the vanilla cream filling.
- Wrap each caramel in wax paper and store in an airtight container.
