Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then stir in the boiling water until smooth.
  5. Pour half of the chocolate batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the red velvet cake batter in the center of the chocolate batter.
  7. Cover the red velvet batter with the remaining chocolate batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
